About Me

Welcome!  I am Ka Yang, and I have been teaching for 11 years, mainly 5th and 6th grade, in a medium-sized school district on the outskirts of Los Angeles County.  I enjoy teaching at a Communication Arts Magnet school because we get to participate in enrichment clusters for an hour every Friday for 6 weeks in the winter and spring.

It's about time I get my feet wet with making learning relevant and engaging for my students.  I do not fear using technology, for it has made my life richer, so it is only fair that every child should also reap the same benefits.  However, I am overwhelmed about how to effectively teach 21st century skills to my students and make sure that they are proficient.

Regardless, excuses will not fix anything.  I'm ready use this platform to learn, lead, and inspire my students to achieve their life goals.

When I am not teaching, I am busy chasing after my one year old daughter, who has discovered her new toy- the toilet bowl- and pursuing my masters in educational technology from Fresno Pacific University.
